HPE Slingshot-10

The 100 Gb/s first generation, shipped in the Cray EX systems that predate Slingshot-11.

Why this part

The first Slingshot generation, and the decision that separates it from every earlier Cray fabric: it speaks standard Ethernet. A supercomputer that talks Ethernet can be reached by ordinary storage, ordinary networks and ordinary cloud infrastructure without a gateway. ARCHER2 runs it. It is a bet that convergence with the data centre matters more than the last increment of specialisation.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
