Intel Xeon Platinum 8160
24-core Xeon, two per node in MareNostrum 4.
Why this part
MareNostrum 4's general-purpose partition, and a reminder that most of the world's scientific computing is still done on ordinary two-socket x86 nodes with nothing attached to them. Barcelona ran that partition alongside explicitly experimental ones based on Power9 and on Arm, treating the machine as a place to evaluate architectures rather than only to run jobs.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
