ARF CPU Cluster
Also known as ARF; TRUBA ARF CPU partition
Operated by TUBITAK ULAKBIM at TRUBA (Ankara) .
Researched with AI assistance, checked by scripts. These rows were researched by AI agents reading public operator, laboratory and vendor sources, appended by scripts and checked by automated validation; no subject-matter expert has reviewed them (how this site is made). A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1350 of 1581 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 64 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

How it compares
Ranked against the other machines in this dataset that report the same figure: those that first came into service within two years of ARF CPU Cluster, and those in Turkey. Computed from our tables; a metric is ranked only when at least eight peers report it.
| Metric | Value | Against its era | Against its country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rmax | 3.00 PFlop/s | #210 of 234 · bottom 11% | - |
| Rmax ÷ Rpeak | 84.3 % | #55 of 231 · top 23% | - |
Every metric is ranked largest-first, so a high power-draw rank means a big power draw, not a good one. Rmax ÷ Rpeak uses HPL-measured results only. Rankings move as machines are added; they describe this dataset, not the world.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
The CPU-only ARF cluster of TRUBA, the Turkish academic HPC service, installed at TUBITAK ULAKBIM's new MODSIMMER TRUBA data centre in Ankara; it is the CPU sibling of the GPU system arf-acc. TOP500 lists a Lenovo ThinkSystem SD650 v3 with Xeon Platinum 8480+ 56-core 2 GHz processors on InfiniBand NDR200 under RedHat 9.1: 55,552 cores, Rmax 3.00 and Rpeak 3.56 PFlop/s, with no power figure published. A TUBITAK news item dated 26 June 2024 on the data-centre opening describes a roughly 55,000-core system of 3.56 PFlop/s theoretical peak, directly liquid cooled, an investment made in 2023, ranked 313th on the June 2024 TOP500 and 360th on the Green500. The same item counts 504 servers and 56 thousand cores for the whole new data centre, slightly above TOP500's figure (55,552 cores is 496 dual-56-core nodes by simple division), so a few nodes were presumably left out of the benchmark run; the CPU model and interconnect come from TOP500 only. TOP500 rank history: 313th (June 2024, the entry recorded here), 354th, 395th, 422nd and 447th (June 2026).
