Bem 2
Also known as WCSS Bem 2 cluster
Operated by WCSS at WCSS Data Centre (Wroclaw) .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1263 of 1345 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 56 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
WCSS's Cascade Lake cluster launched in June 2021, a PRACE Tier-1 resource until the end of PRACE-6IP in mid-2022. The centre quotes 2.2 PFlop/s computing power, 24,288 CPU cores, 141 TB of RAM and 750 TB of Lustre scratch on 506 compute nodes, including 277 HUAWEI CH121L V5 nodes with two Xeon Platinum 8268 (24 cores, 2.9 GHz) and 192 GB each, on an InfiniBand EDR 100 Gbps network, running AlmaLinux. The 2.2 PFlop/s figure is an operator statement and is recorded as peak. The newer Lem cluster and the original BEM are recorded separately. Operator page only, so the tier is reported.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
None of the cited sources could be read from our network: the hosts returned bot challenges or did not respond. This check says nothing about the citations either way. See how this check works.
