Stratus (NSC)
Also known as Stratus
Operated by NSC at NSC Data Centre, Linkoping .
Researched with AI assistance, checked by scripts. These rows were researched by AI agents reading public operator, laboratory and vendor sources, appended by scripts and checked by automated validation; no subject-matter expert has reviewed them (how this site is made). A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1350 of 1581 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 64 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

How it compares
Ranked against the other machines in this dataset that report the same figure: those that first came into service within two years of Stratus (NSC), and those in Sweden. Computed from our tables; a metric is ranked only when at least eight peers report it.
| Metric | Value | Against its era | Against its country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rmax | 910.00 TFlop/s | #184 of 223 · bottom 19% | #9 of 18 · top 47% |
| Rmax ÷ Rpeak | 67.9 % | #108 of 216 · top 50% | #13 of 18 · bottom 30% |
Every metric is ranked largest-first, so a high power-draw rank means a big power draw, not a good one. Rmax ÷ Rpeak uses HPL-measured results only. Rankings move as machines are added; they describe this dataset, not the world.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
Operational weather-forecasting cluster at NSC in Linkoping, funded by SMHI and paired with Cirrus, which uses the same node type, at SMHI in Norrkoping; the NSC pages say both were installed at the end of 2018 and that the pair supports the MetCoOp forecasting cooperation (SMHI, MET Norway, FMI). TOP500 ranked it 481st in November 2018 as ClusterVision/Hammer with Xeon Gold 6130 and Omni-Path: 19,968 cores, Rmax 0.91 and Rpeak 1.34 PFlop/s. NSC's systems page today gives a different size, 16,640 cores, and the sources do not reconcile the two, so the TOP500 core count is kept with this caveat. NSC states that Cirrus, Stratus and the research cluster Nebula share the same dual Xeon Gold 6130 node type (96 GiB thin, 384 GiB fat) delivered by ClusterVision. Not to be confused with the EPCC system named Cirrus (cirrus) in this dataset;
