Intel Xeon Platinum 8460Y+

40-core Xeon host in the MareNostrum 5 accelerated partition.

Why this part

Sapphire Rapids, and the first Intel server generation on DDR5 and PCIe 5.0. MareNostrum 5 splits into a general-purpose partition on these and an accelerated partition on H100s, from two different integrators, Lenovo and Eviden, under one EuroHPC procurement. Europe buys machines this way deliberately: multiple suppliers inside one system is a hedge, and it is also the reason the domestic-substitution index for the EU still reads zero, because every part of both partitions is designed outside it.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
