Osaka University 64-Qubit System
Osaka University 64-Qubit System is a superconducting circuits quantum computer operated by Osaka University in Japan. It has 64 physical qubits. It ranks 27 of 53 superconducting machines in this table by physical qubit count. 3 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as Osaka University QIQB superconducting quantum computer, Japan third domestic quantum computer
Announced on 20 December 2023 by a consortium of Osaka University, RIKEN, NICT, AWS, Fujitsu, NTT and others, with cloud access for users in Japan from 22 December 2023. It uses the same chip design as RIKEN's first superconducting quantum computer and more domestically made components than earlier machines, except the refrigerator. No fidelity or coherence figures are published in the release, and no later status update was found.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | 64-qubit chip provided by RIKEN | Vendor reported | NTT says it uses the same design as the chip in RIKEN's first superconducting quantum computer. | group.ntt |
| Fabrication | More domestically manufactured components than earlier systems, excluding the refrigerator | Vendor reported | Used as a test bed for Japan-made components. | group.ntt |
| Access and pricing | Cloud access for users in Japan from 22 December 2023 via a joint research consortium | Vendor reported | The consortium includes Osaka University, RIKEN, NICT, AWS, Fujitsu, NTT and others. | group.ntt |
